5 Tips to get the most out of your esports bets
After a few years of betting on sports, I can finally bet on my favourite thing: Dota 2! So from my years of experience I’ve found these to be the most helpful tips to betting on esports.
Do your homework
This is one of the most important things to do. Research and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the players and teams you’re betting on. Look at stats, analyze past games, and always be up to date.
Focus on a team or specific esport.
It’s obviously better to stick to things you know best. So if you have a favourite team then stick to betting on them. And bet on the games that you play. Don’t bother betting on dota if you’re a league player.
Bet sober and don’t be tilty.
If you’re drunk or high it will influence your betting decisions for the worse. There’s a reason the give free drinks at casinos. And dont bet while on tilt. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a term commonly used in casinos that means you’re getting emotions cloud your judgment. If you lose a couple bets in a row don’t bet anymore. Go for a walk, clear your mind. Be one with the earth.
Manage your money.
When you’re betting, you should always set aside a certain amount of money that you can afford to lose. Doing this will make it easier for you to keep your money under management so you never lose too much money at a time.
Hunt for the best odds.
All this means is that if one site gives you 12 bucks profit for a win, and another site gives you 15. Bet on the second site. Cause you just got 3 extra bucks in case of a win. You can often find a site that tells you all of this so you can just look and be like “okay I’ll bet on this site for the most profit”.
